Deli in the hall, restaurant one flight up. Nybrogatan 29–31.
Östermalms Saluhall has been Stockholm's dining room since 1888. We've been in it for close to twenty years — first with a deli counter and take-away on the hall floor, and since August 2021 with a restaurant and full bar one flight up.
That makes us two places at one address: one to buy from and take away, one to sit down in.
The deli in the hall
Down in the hall, the deli counter serves Lebanese food over the counter — dips, salads, grilled dishes, and pastries, to eat there or take with you. Same kitchen as the restaurant, smaller format.
The deli is open Monday to Friday 09:30–19:00 and Saturday 09:30–17:00.
The restaurant upstairs
One flight up is the restaurant, with a dining room, a bar, and three rooms for private parties. From up here you look out over the hall — Balkongen has a panoramic view straight down over the stalls.
The restaurant serves lunch Monday to Saturday and dinner Monday to Saturday evening. Closed Sundays.
Getting here
The address is Nybrogatan 29–31, 114 39 Stockholm. The nearest metro is Östermalmstorg, a minute away, and buses run to Nybroplan and Östermalmstorg.
The restaurant entrance goes through the market hall — take the stairs up once you're inside.
Why a market hall changes the food
Cooking in a building full of fishmongers, butchers, and greengrocers shapes the menu. Ingredients change hands inside the house, and the season shows up in the counters before it shows up on the plate.
That suits Lebanese cooking unusually well: meze is built on many small dishes of fresh produce, and the grill needs meat good enough to simply season and lay over coals.
