Beirut Café
Mixed grill platter with skewers, rice, fattoush and meze at Beirut Café

Lebanese restaurant in Stockholm

Meze, charcoal grill, and Lebanese hospitality inside Östermalms Saluhall.

Beirut Café opened in 1999 on Engelbrektsgatan as the first restaurant serving Lebanese food on Östermalm — and in all of Scandinavia. We later moved into Östermalms Saluhall, first with a deli and take-away, and since August 2021 with a full restaurant and bar one flight up.

If you're looking for a Lebanese restaurant in Stockholm where the food is built to be shared, this is it. We cook from family recipes, grill over charcoal, and set the table so everyone can reach.

Meze — small plates, long table

Meze is the foundation of Lebanese cooking: many small dishes brought out at once and eaten together. Most meals here start that way — bread, olive oil, and a table that keeps filling up. It's a way of eating that makes the company the main course.

Order a few things, share them, order more. Nobody has to choose for anyone else.

  • Hummus

Creamy chickpea purée with tahini, lemon, and olive oil.

  • Baba ganoush

Smoky aubergine, charred over coals before it's mashed.

  • Tabbouleh

Parsley, tomato, mint, and bulgur with lemon.

  • Warak enab

Vine leaves rolled with rice, herbs, and lemon.

  • Sambousek

Crisp pastries filled with meat or spinach.

Mashawi — charcoal grill

The grill is the other half of the menu. Marinades sit overnight, skewers cook over charcoal, and they reach the table still crackling — with rice or bulgur, salad, and our own sauces alongside.

If you want to taste widely, the mixed grill is built for it: one platter to share, for two people or more.

  • Shish taouk

Chicken skewers marinated in yoghurt and spices.

  • Kafta

Minced beef skewers with parsley, onion, and cinnamon.

  • Gat mashawi mshakal

Mixed grill platter: beef tenderloin, chicken, and kafta.

Vegetarian and vegan

Lebanese cooking is vegetarian at its root — long before that became a menu category. Much of a meze spread is plant-based without anyone having to ask, and our vegetarian dishes get the same care as everything else.

  • Mujadara

Lentils and rice with caramelised onion and cumin.

  • Falafel

Fried chickpea balls with tahini sauce.

  • Fattoush

Crisp salad with toasted pita and sumac.

  • Batata harra

Fried potatoes with garlic, chilli, and coriander.

Inside Östermalms Saluhall

We're at Nybrogatan 29–31, one flight up above our own deli counter in Östermalms Saluhall. The location makes us as natural for a midweek lunch as for a long Friday dinner — and for groups who want to eat well without leaving the city centre.

The bar pours drinks drawn from Lebanese flavours and a wine list chosen to stand up to spice, acidity, and charcoal smoke.

Lunch, dinner, take-away, and catering

The restaurant serves lunch Monday to Saturday and dinner Monday to Saturday evening. We're closed on Sundays.

If you'd rather eat at home, the deli does take-away — and for larger groups we cater and host private dinners in our own rooms upstairs.
